Garnishee Administration

Consumer Assist through is subsidiary DCM manages the full administration of Garnishee orders.
The service includes the uploading of all garnishee order's information on the GAS (Garnishee Administration System), garnishee order pre-validation, verification and calculation of interest and attorney fees.
It includes all distribution of instalments to the various creditors and attorneys.
DCM interfaces with the payroll system each month providing all the necessary information required to effect efficient and accurate payment distribution to creditors.

Employee Debt Counselling and restructuring

Consumer Assist will deliver Debt Couselling and debt restructuring services to all over indebted employees.
A Consumer Assist accredited Debt Cousellor will facilitate the process starting with interviewing the employee to determine the level of over indebtedness. This assessment will determine whether to proceed with a formal or informal debt restructuring process.
Within both processes, instalment repayments will be reduced to ensure that your employee have sufficient disposable income to cover his/her basic living expenses without necessary extending the original repayment term.

financial wellness training course

This one day course complements the debt restructuring process and equips all employees with a basic understanding in dealing with credit and creditors. The course is not limited to a specific income group and the discussion subjects are relevant to all attendees.

Consumer advice and call centre

The newly promulgated credit act's objectives are to protect the consumer against a variety of practices. From illegal debt collection methods, processes and guidelines for debt collection, interest rates and fees, and calculations used to determine over indebtedness before granting credit.
The Consumer Assist consumer advice and call centre provides employees with sound financial advice on how to deal with payment demands and pressure from creditors taking legal action. Employees will have access to qualified Debt Cousellors giving advice on the credit and magistrates court act.
If additional advice or assistance is required employees will be referred to a Debt Counsellor in there area.
